Aleksanteri, Fuengirola: Looking Back

Now it is over. I was in Fuengirola a bit over two months and there was a lot to do for the whole time. I took a lot of pictures from many different occations but I found very little time for uploading them here talking about stuff and events that happened. With this last post I aim to correct that.

Jari Sillanpää had a show in the Palacio de la Paz in Fuengirola at 22.2.-14 . The show was called "Tulessa", which basically means "On Fire". I took a wide bunch of pictures of his show, but decided to change only 5 of them into grayscale. Sometimes showlights have so disorientating colours that changing picture into black and white improves the overall quality.
I'm still training my eye to see, when grayscale is a proper choice for a picture, since I have never explored this possibility that much before. This is one of the areas I need to improve a lot.

Surprising background colours can also support the picture quite well.

I also took some screens from local streets and some of those I will potentially modify even further. I found these two screens quite amusing, since they were taken on different days. You don't normally just happen to bump in to the same person just like that. At the time I didn't even recognize the man.

There's also a lot of pictures I happened to take while working for the paper. Many of these screens weren't really used in a paper but it doesn't diminish their value at all.

A great deal can also be said about Spanish traffic habits, but surprisingly everything still somehow works in there. The main difference is that people just don't seem to care if their cars are full of dents and scratches.

Its a feast so who cares about rules, right?

These pictures are also originally made for the newspaper. The last two pictures down at the very bottom are supposed to be some sort of product pictures. They were improvised in a very short time so I'm actually quite pleased what I came up with at that time.
