Antti, Norway: Last thoughts

Our last week in Norway went so that I didn´t find time to write in this blog. So I´ve been back in Finland since Thursday but however, I tell something about my week there.

After NRK in Lysebu I shot last portraits about Lent´s staff. There was only one of them missing, Preben, who doesn´t work in Oslo. Then I had time to only walk and watch, and I decided to check one area where I hadn´t walked before. And it was like another world, just unbelievable: no cars, peaceful and almost quiet, stunning architecture, people working in luxurious offices behind window walls. I thought that beggars propably don´t guess how rich area there is just nearby them. And it would be useless to beg there...

On Sunday I was asked to shoot every room in two flats, because the owner, one of Lent´s staff, needs good photos about them for rental advertisements. We hadn´t much time, so it was also good practice to manage in architecture photography relatively rapidly.

On Monday I travelled again to Myrdal by train hoping that there would be snow, Jari continued with editing. And there was very beautiful first snow during the train journey, I just watched and enjoyed. There was snow also in Myrdal but less than I had hoped, only fairly up in mountain slopes. I had there a good tent place somewhat near the little railway station, so I had enough time to shoot landscapes, although I had to travel back already on Tuesday.

Wednesday was our last day in Norway, but I was able to continue photography practice even then, because Lent had a course day again in Drammen and they wanted photos from there. And at evening we had a nice farewell party in Lent´s office for us two and three students, whose period in Lent also ended then.

All in all I feel my stay in Norway very advantageous and unforgettable. And I´m very grateful for the possibility to live there for such a long time. Norway is a fine country in many ways, although there is also misery. I wondered that there were Norwegian beggars too and so many Rom beggars. Another things that I wondered were how many cars had dimples, even some taxis, and how many cars stopped for waiting pedestrians to walk over streets; that was something that you don´t see in Pori...

Below the last set of my photos. There are also some older portraits about Lent´s staff that I like. And if you are interested in snowy mountains, you can see them from Myrdal and other photos from Oslo and Drammen in my album. And after all, I could keep my "promise": I uploaded no nature photos in this blog and I´m a bit proud of that ;-).
