Peter Harkin Master Photographer Studios |
Another day at the Peter Harkin Studios. The week has been pretty busy, but this Thursday might be already a slower day, because people start relaxing and thinking of the Easter time and bank holiday weekend ahead.
Easter time may be slow for a Photographer Studio, but for street artists it's most probably one of the busiest times of the year. And not only because of hundreds of people walking and shopping in the downtown. Galway will also have a four-day-festival called "Galway Food Festival" which will bring a lot of people to this lovely town.
Music is really vital to most people in Ireland. On a normal weekday you may find more than dozen street artists on your way to downtown Galway. And the journey is only a couple of kilometers.
The amount of artists doubles or triples on Saturdays and Sundays. But so does the amount of people willing to give some coins to all these amazing wanna-be-artists.
It's a tough thing to stand out of the crowd. But for us walking on the street it's a wonderful live show all day through.
This buddha I saw on my first weekend in Ireland. He sat on one of the busiest streets of Dublin. From my Galway mates I heard that this man has also spent days in Galway. So, for a street artist it may be necessary to change the town once in a while to make the act alive and interesting to the public eye.
The most interesting dance act seen in Galway so far. |
Wishing you all the best for the Easter time!
