Jari , Norway : Here we are!

Now at last I had time to log on HDRI 2 stories blog. Here summer still continues and now photography must be carried out outside as much as possible before the rains in autumn begin. I and Antti have had really busy days. The normal working days will begin in 9.00 mornings and end late in the evening because the choosing and editing of pictures take much time. This week we have had also whole days for editing. Last Friday 20.9. I went early in the morning with Therese  to the Arbeidsinstituttet in Drammen. We went there by underground ,train and taxi, back in reverse order. Antti´s photography place was located in Sundvolden Hotel, where he went with Nora by bus.

Lent is a training and consulting company in Oslo and educates businesses, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, etc staff and trainers. That's why they need lots of different photos in their image bank for use in education, websites and printed products. We have at least 10 different themes to image symbolically, as well as  to shoot photos of educational events, facilities, personnel, etc. It is a challenge to work as a photographer and you need lots of imagination and initiative. Last Monday we had new pictures, which were presented in the weekly meeting of Lent. We have been well received and we have got positive feedback from our images and our works.

Our apartment is located in Oslo, Carl Berner Plass.

Greetins from Norway, Oslo.

P.S. There were many kind of problems in uploading photos in this blog, for example captions could be written only under the first photos, so it didn´t succeed, sorry.

Antti, Norway: Marathon runners

Last Saturday I was thinking to visit Holmenkollen but I decided to shoot first some more photos at Oslo´s exceptional new Opera House. There were many runners nearby Opera and after a while I noticed that there was Oslo Maraton going including also half-marathon and 10 km distances. I started to shoot photos about them and time flied so that I never entered the Opera House or Holmenkollen during that day.

Earlier that week I was shooting photos for Lent at NRK, comparable to Finnish Yle, and Sundvolden Hotel, where they had courses. The lunch was again delicious and at the hotel´s lunch table I thought that it´s like a dream: to eat such kind of food for free and shoot photos in a course where people didn´t feel themselves disturbed because of photographying. I could do something like that for profession in the future if somebody would pay for that...

I noticed in Sundvollen that there was a hiking path up to "Kongens utsikt" where it would probably be a fine view. Later during that day I walked there and it was a nice place 380 m above two lakes. But because the purpose of our education is not to shoot nature photos, I don´t put such ones in this blog.

Jari has also edited photos and he isn´t shooting so much any more. Today he tried to write his first story here but there were some problems in his authorship rights so it didn´t succeed. Be patient, some day you´ll see his photos too.

Below is an even more miscellaneous set of my photos from last week. If you are interested to see landscape photos too, you can take a look at some of them and also more photos of our second week here.

Antti, Norway: First impressions

Hi,

Greetings from Oslo! We, me and Jari, have been here from Wednesday 11th September. Anne and Helene from Lent kindly transferred us from the airport to our nice two-rooms apartment in Carl Berner.

On Thursday they told us what they expect about our photos and we told them about our hopes and expectations. We ate there a versatile delicious lunch and after that we were free to go shoot photos outside. Jari is shooting almost everywhere almost everything almost all the time... so you have to wait for seeing his photos for a while.

We noticed that it was a good choice to travel here a couple days earlier than we first planned. The weather was surprisingly warm and sunny the first three days, after that it has been mostly cloudy and today also rainy. And there was "Oslo Kulturnatt" -happenings on Friday and lots of interesting to see just near Lent too. There was for example free entrance to Nobel Peace Center and its impressive exhibitions, we were there until the closing time at 11 pm.

Earlier in Friday evening we were invited to eat excellent sea food from Lofoten for free on a sailing ship although there was a label "VIP only with a ticket"... because there was lots of food remaining. We thought that we´ll buy some Lofoten fish but their payment terminal didn´t accept either of our bank cards (although they had worked in other places), so they gave us two packages of salmon for free!! Jari noticed how our Heavenly Father looked after us :-).

Here is a bit miscellaneous set of my photos from Oslo. They can be seen in bigger size also here.
